Jerry Tweddell is a fee-only investment advisor who grew up on Long Island, N.Y., and graduated from St. Lawrence University, Canton, N.Y., in 1962. After serving as an officer on active duty in the U.S. Naval Reserve for three years, he entered the investment business as a retail stockbroker in New England.
Moving to California, he worked with various New York Stock Exchange firms as both a retail and, later, an institutional stockbroker. Increasingly frustrated by sales practices, he finally left the brokerage business in 1991. He started his own investment management practice, concentrating on managing mutual fund portfolios for individual investors. Jerry emphasizes personalized solutions for his clients. He currently manages more than $25 million.
Co-author of Pick Winning Mutual Funds (John Wiley & Sons) and Winning With Index Mutual Funds (AMACOM), he has written articles for Financial Planning magazine and InvestmentNews. In addition, he has received numerous mentions in The Wall Street Journal, SmartMoney and The New York Observer.
He lives with his wife Deborah in Sonora, Calif.
